Sri Shirdi Sai Baba's Guru Pournima Celebrations were organised at Tumkur Shirdi - Shri Sai Baba Dwaraka Mandira, also popularly called as Euro School Sai Baba Temple in Tumkur on Monday & Tuesday, The 2nd & 3rd July 2012. This being the 4th year of Guru Pournima, Celebrations was organised in a very grand way.

The Guru Pournima Celebrations commenced on Monday 02nd July 2012 at 5:30am with Ananthakoti Kakad Aarti, Bhupali to Sri Sai Baba. Gangajala Snan, Sheerabishek, Chandan Snan was performed after the completion of kakad Aarti & Special Vastra Alankaram, Pushpa Alankaram was performed to Sri Sai Baba.

By 12:30 pm after Noon Madhyan Aarti was performed, A 24 Hour Gayatri Homam & Sri Sai Baba Moola Mantra Homan commenced in a Specially designed Leaf like Shaped Agni Kunda. This being a Unique feature for this years celebrations got lot of Sai Devotees Attention & 50 Sai Parivar Families participated in the Homam event that was performed till the next day noon.

In the evening Sai Baba's Dhoop Aarti was performed by sunset followed by Sai Bhajan Sandhya by local Bhajan Troupe from Tumkur. Sai Baba's Shej Aarti was performed at around 9pm & the temple was kept open through out the night to facilitate Sai Devotees visiting temple to participate in the Homam.

On Tuesday 3rd July 2012, On the Guru Pournima Day, Sri Sai Baba's Kakad Aarti followed by Mangal Snan, Sheerabishek, Chandan Snan were performed by Selected Sai Devotees early in the morning between 5:30 am to 7:00 am followed by Vastra Alankaram, Pushpa Alankaram.

Prasad Consisting of Vegetable Upma & sheera was served as prasad to Sai Devotees present for the Morning Puja by around 7:30am.

By 9:00am, A Specially Designed Glass Enclosure of 4ft height was installed around Sai Baba's Simhasan & Special Pushpa Abhishek with around 10 varieties of Flowers & scented leaves was performed to Sri Sai Baba. The Flowers & leaves were filled up one after the other till Baba's Chest & it was a very Special Moment to See our Most Lovable Guru Sri Sai Baba being completely covered with fresh flowers & scented leaves.

By 10:00am, Blood Donation Camp got commenced & Sai Devotees were encouraged to Donate blood & to get the blessings of Sri Sai Baba. This camp continued till the Noon Aarti & Prasad.

By 12:00pm, Sai Baba's Madhyan Aarti commenced after the Naivaithya consisting of Brinjal Rice, Curd Rice & Jilebi Sweet were served to Sri Sai Baba. After the Madhyan Aarti, the 24hr Gayatri Homam & Sri Sai Baba Moola Mantra Homam was concluded after the Poornahuti Ceremony. Many varieties of Dry Fruits, Nuts & Spices, Root Extracts, Ghee & a Silk Cloth was placed in a big vessel. All the Sai devotees present in the temple were allowed to touch the plate & finally it was handed over to the Chief Priest who performed the Purnahuti Ceremony.

Naivaithya Prasad was distributed to Sai Devotees in Buffet System. Around 500 Sai Devotees had the Prasad after the noon aarti.

By around 2:00pm, Sai Baba's Fiber statue of height 5.5ft was installed on a Well Decorated Tractor & Sai Baba's Shobha Yatra was performed around Tumkur Town Covering all Major Areas. Traditional Cultural Events like Veeragase & Nasik Dhool were performed enroute the Procession. By 6:00pm the Shobha Yatra Rath reached back at the Mandir.

By evening 4:00pm, Baba Paduka Puja, Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam, Sri Lalitha Sahasranamam was performed by Ladies from the Sai Parivar while the Shobha Yatra was in progress in the streets of Tumkur.

By 6:00pm after the return of the Shobha Yatra, Veeragasa was performed yet another time in the temple & blessings were given to all Sai Devotees present in the temple.

Sai Baba's Palki Utsav commenced by around 6:30pm after the Veeragasa Dance Presentation & was performed inside the Mandir Complex. Sai Baba's Nama was chanted during the Palki Utsav & reached back to the Mandir.

Sai Baba's Dhoop Aarti was performed & naivaithyam was given to Sai Baba. A All Women Sai Bhajan from Bangalore performed Special Bhajan Sandhya between 7:00pm to 8:30pm & it was quite peaceful to hear to melodious Sai Baba Bhajans.

Sai Devotees present in the temple were provided with Prasad after the Dhoop Aarti Consisting of Vegetable Fried Rice, Onion Raitha & Dhoodh Peda. Around 1500 Sai Devotees were fed the Baba's Evening Prasad.

The Day ended with Shej Aarti to Sri Sai Baba at around 10:00pm & the temple was open till 11:00pm to allow Sai Devotees to have a Mukh darshan of Sri Sai Baba & to get his blessings.
