Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mandiram, Dowleswaram, Rajahmundry. Andhra Pradesh.

Aum Sai Ram.

This is the 29th Temple visited by me during my 13th Pilgrimage to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temples at Rajahmundry on Sunday, 18th Mar 2012 & Thursday, 22nd Mar 2012. After Knowing my Profile, I was invited formally & i was asked to visit them again on Thursday to be Part of the Puja Ceremony to perform Abhishek to Sri Sai Baba.

Mr. Pavan Kumar was given the task of taking me to some Sri Shirdi Sai Baba temples in the city outskirts on Sunday, the 18th March 2012 by my Host Mrs. Padma Karunakaram in Rajahmundry. Pavan was prompt in coming to pick me by 8:00am at the Apartment where i was staying with a Sai Devotee Family.

This was the first temple to be visited on 18th March 2012. This is a very old & 1st temple of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba in Rajahmundry & East Godavari Dist of Andhra Pradesh. Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir at Dowleswaram was opened to Sai Devotees in 1942. Sri B V Narasimha Swamy of Chennai All India Sai Samaj was on a Mission to propogate the life & glory of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba & during his pilgrimage visited the then Rajahmundry town. On his way, he saw this present temple property which is very near to the Dowleswaram Barrage & felt the presence of a Spiritual Aura of Goddess Durga Devi. So with the help of some devotees he installed a Sri Chakra Maha Meru & a Statue of Sri Sai Baba.

Later on as the time passed by & as theGlory of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba grew with time, a need to built a bigger temple of worship came as the need of the hour.

In 1988 the temple was Renovated & a 6ft Black Granite Statue of Sri Sai Baba was installed on 16th Nov 1988.
