The Blessed Gramophone of Sai Baba at Shirdi Museum.

Aum Sai Ram

All Sai Baba devotees hear and love the devotional music of Baba.

But do you know that Baba too had a great love of music and dance ?

In his early days, Baba would often go to the "Takia" (resting place for visiting fakirs) and sing devotional songs in a very sweet & melodious voice. Apart from singing the divine songs of Kabir, Baba would also sing devotional songs in Persian or Arabic, which the local people did not understand. Baba used to tie bells and anklets and dance around in ecstasy while singing.
"Takia" is the place just across from the Gurusthan, to the east of Dixit Wada and opposite the Neem tree, near to the present day open air theatre.

Sometimes Baba used to explain the ragas or musical notes in detail to devotees already having the knowledge of singing and music. Sai Baba also encouraged and loved the singing of Bhajans (Devotional) songs in Dwarkamai. He also had his own Gramophone which he used to play himself with his own hands !!!

This Gramophone is no ordinary Gramophone as it is "The Gramophone" which has played Music for Sai Baba, which has been touched by a Saint like Baba and also has been a witness to Baba's love for Music. Today, this blessed Gramophone (Broken) & 50 Old Records are kept at the "Sai Baba Museum" in Dixit Wada @ Shirdi.
